Elma Luxury Clean EC 90 – Concentrated Cleaner for Watches and Jewellery – 1 L

Elma Luxury Clean EC 90 is a professional, water-based concentrated cleaner with a neutral pH, developed for cleaning watches, bracelets, cases and jewellery.

Particularly suitable for watchmakers, repair workshops, jewellers and watch maintenance professionals, EC 90 effectively removes dirt accumulated during wear as well as residues from polishing compounds and products that may remain on a watch case or bracelet after finishing.

Its formulation is suitable for a wide variety of materials and also provides a brightening effect, combined with temporary protection against tarnishing.

Ideal for cleaning watches

Elma EC 90 is particularly recommended for cleaning external watch components:

It is particularly useful after polishing a watch case or bracelet, helping to remove polishing compound residues, grease and dirt trapped in hard-to-reach areas.

A highly economical concentrated solution

Unlike a ready-to-use product, Elma EC 90 is highly concentrated and only a small amount is required to prepare a cleaning bath.

For normal use, the recommended dilution is:

2% = 20 mL EC 90 + 980 mL water

Therefore, 1 litre of concentrate can prepare approximately 50 litres of ready-to-use cleaning solution.

For particularly dirty parts or heavier residues, the concentration can be increased to:

4% = 40 mL EC 90 + 960 mL water

Even at this higher concentration, a 1-litre bottle can prepare approximately 25 litres of solution.

This low consumption per bath makes EC 90 particularly economical for watchmaking workshops, especially when ultrasonic cleaning is carried out regularly.

Ultrasonic or immersion cleaning

EC 90 can be used in a professional ultrasonic cleaner or for conventional immersion cleaning.

Recommended parameters:

• Normal dilution: 2%
• Heavy soiling: 4%
• Bath temperature: 25 to 70°C
• Cleaning time: 2 to 15 minutes

Cleaning time and concentration can be adjusted according to the level of soiling.

Use with gemstones

EC 90 is suitable for hard gemstones.

For amorphous or soft materials such as pearls, coral or amber, Elma recommends using an ultrasonic bath operating at a frequency of at least 80 kHz, or alternatively using immersion cleaning.

At ultrasonic frequencies below 80 kHz, certain fragile stones may be damaged.

After cleaning

After the cleaning cycle:

1. Remove the parts from the bath.
2. Rinse thoroughly with cold water.
3. Pat dry or dry the parts carefully to prevent marks.

When cleaning performance decreases or the bath becomes heavily contaminated, the cleaning solution should be replaced.
